Grace (Dickson) Little

Grace Dickson Little age 99 of West Jefferson passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Wilkes Health & Rehab. Mrs. Little was born in McDowell County, WV on Thursday, October 18, 1923 to the late Quincy Neal and Ella Campbell Dickson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband, Herman Franklin Little and three brothers, Earl, Glenn and Howard Dickson. She worked for McNeill Department Store in West Jefferson until the age of 80. Grace enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, quilting, gardening, sewing and was an avid sports fan, especially UNC Carolina basketball. She was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Little is survived by: two daughters, Joyce Greer and husband Junior and Janet Black and husband Bobby both of West Jefferson, three grandchildren, Eric Greer and Wife Becky, Misty Randle and husband Jarrod, Kevin Black and wife Stacey, seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Greer and fiancée Monty Sauter, Allyson Greer, Sydney Greer, Grace Randle, Aaron Randle, Dylan Black, Caden Black and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Doug Halsey and Rev. Toby Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Wilkes Assisted Living and Wilkes Health & Rehab’s Nursing and Therapy departments for their love and care.
