Mary Lynn (Mash) Roten

Mary Lynn Mash Roten, age 80 of Crumpler, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Ashe Assisted Living. Mrs. Roten was born on September 1, 1940 in Ashe County to George Lenderman Mash and Verna Bare Mash. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifton Ray Roten, brothers, George McDowell Mash and Goodman Mash, and a sister, Virginia Pennell.

Mrs. Roten was a hard worker and retired from Hanes Knit Products after 37 years, then went to work at Jefferson Apparel for four years until the plant closing. She was a member of Senter Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Roten is survived by:  one son, Vernon Roten and wife Paula of Fleetwood; one brother, Linville Mash of Akron, Ohio; two grandsons, David Roten and Joshua Roten; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Elder John Jackson and Elder James McNeill. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family requests that masks be worn and please practice social distancing if attending the services.

The family respectfully requests no food please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Senter Primitive Baptist Church, in care of Vernon Roten, 184 Big Flats Moretz Road, Fleetwood, NC 28626.
