Robert Wayne Jones

Robert Wayne Jones, better known as Wayne, age 90 of Warrensville, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Wayne was born on February 2, 1933, in Ashe County to Worth Avery and Delray Carrington Roten Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughters, Linda Harvey and Kathy Lowe, a granddaughter Beth Jones Albino, a sister Juanita Leek, and brothers Joe Jones and Jerry Jones.

Wayne was a devoted member of Clifton Baptist Church, where his faith played an important role in his life. For an impressive 39 years, he dedicated himself to Sprague Electric Company, later known as United Chemi-Con.

In a testament to enduring love, Wayne was married to Barbara Ruth Osborne Jones, fondly known as "Bobbie," for 73 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Bobbie; a son, Larry Jones and wife Debbie of Warrensville; three grandchildren, Amy Blevins, Ryan Harvey, and Adam Lowe, and four great-grandchildren. Wayne is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Jim Greer.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023 prior to the service at Ashelawn.

Wayne will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and the deep love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
