Roy "R.L." Blevins

Roy L. Blevins better known as R.L. age 80 of Lansing died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Blevins was born March 9, 1938 in Ashe County to the late Arthur and Lela Massey Blevins.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by, brothers, Paul, Fred, Dean and Robert Blevins and sisters, Ruth Blackburn and Mary Oliver.

Mr. Blevins was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and sang in a quartet.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, wood working, pitching horseshoes, flower gardening, bird watching and playing with his dogs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russell Sheets, Rev. Fred Steelman, Rev. Michael Blevins and Rev. Michael Mcelhaney.  Burial will follow in the Blevins Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 -2 prior to the service.

Mr. Blevins is survived by, his wife, Linda K. Blevins, sons, Roger L. Blevins and wife Teresa of Laurel Springs, Richard L. Blevins and wife Frances, Randy L. Blevins both of Jefferson, brothers, Rex Blevins and Larry Blevins both of Lansing, sisters, Beryl Carter of Lansing and Faye Testerman of Jefferson,  six grandchildren, Michael (Kenna) Blevins, Ashley Blevins, Christopher (Brittany) Blevins, Bonnie (David) Bradley, Dustin (Jessie) Blevins, Matt (Rachel) Blevins, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
