View Her Video Tribute Mrs. Adell Eldreth Carter age 91, of Lansing, NC died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born on April 27, 1919 in Ashe County to Arthur and Lila Sheets Eldreth.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carter, two sons, Paul Carter, Danny Carter, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was a member for 64 years of Pond Mountain Primitive Baptist Church. Cooking Sunday meals and holiday meals for her family and spending time with them was one of her great joys. She was a loving person; she never meet a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Eddie Lyalls, Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, Rev. Julian Owens and Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Perry Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter is survived by: 2 Sons: Charles Ray Carter and wife Mary Ann of Lansing, & Bill Carter and wife Susan of Jefferson 6 Daughters: Janet Ham and husband Archie of Creston, Brenda Shoemaker and husband Harold of Mt. City, TN,  Etta Taylor & Betty Stanley and husband Larry all of Jefferson,  Barbara Brinegar of Lansing & Jane Welborn of Winston-Salem Caregiver:  Andrea Church also surviving are a total of 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to Gideon's International, PO Box 993, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
