Alexis Makayla Russell, known to all as “Lexi,” of Glendale Springs, North Carolina passed away on November 5, 2024. Lexi was born on July 5, 2002, in Watauga County, she graced our lives for 22 years with her vibrant spirit, genuine kindness, and unwavering warmth. She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Joshua and Joseph Russell, her maternal grandfather, Gary Little and her one and only love, Elijah McRoy.

Lexi could brighten any room she walked into, her big heart and infectious smile radiated warmth and joy to everyone she met. Known for her open nature, Lexi never met a stranger, welcoming everyone with open arms. From a young age, she showed a deep compassion for others, especially children, always making sure that those around her were cared for and loved.

A selfie enthusiast, Lexi loved capturing moments with friends and family. Her greatest joys came from spending quality time with her grandparents, enjoying quiet moments fishing, and gathering with loved ones at family cookouts and get-togethers. She had a special love for owls and butterflies, symbols of beauty and transformation that reflect her own free-spirited nature.

She is survived by her mother, Stephanie Page (Robert) of West Jefferson, her father, Brian Russell (Linda) of Glendale Springs, one brother, Nicholas Coldiron, sisters, Naomi Page and Ellie Page all of West Jefferson, paternal grandfather, Don Russell (Alisa) of West Jefferson, paternal grandmother, Mary Fuentes (Victor) of Jefferson and special cousin Emma Jo Little. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel; 3470 US Highway 221 N. Jefferson, NC 28640.

Lexi’s memory lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
