Alpha "Bear” Steve Sexton

Alpha Steve Sexton, better known as “Bear” age 66 of Conover, North Carolina, formerly of Lansing passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his home.  Bear was born in Ashe County on Saturday, September 12, 1953 to the late Coolidge and Clara Wallace Sexton.  Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife Deana Allen Sexton formerly of Atlanta, GA and Highlands, NC and special friends the Hoosier girls and their families.

Bear cared for many throughout his life.  He never knew a stranger and could often be seen doing yard work and landscaping for the elderly in his community.  He was also an avid walker and enjoyed the outdoors, always exploring his town and its treasures.  He enjoyed martial arts when he was younger and later in life he took pride in his vegetable and flower gardens.  He loved traveling with his wife Deana, experiencing new things, and turning into a foodie.  Bear loved the Lord and was truly a one of a kind man.  To know him was to love him and he will be missed by everyone that crossed his path.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
