Amanda Gail Hawkins, age 32 of Laurel Springs passed away September 12, 2024. She was born May 12, 1992, in Ashe County to Dennis and Ann Bare Severt. Amanda was a radiant soul whose good-hearted nature endeared her to everyone she met. Her kindness and compassion were evident in her love for her daughter, Gracie, with whom she cherished every moment spent together. Amanda love extended beyond her family; she had a profound affection for animals and was known for her unwavering commitment to adopting strays.
Her passions included fishing, enjoying peaceful days by the river, and horseback riding, activities that brought her great joy and connected her to the beauty of nature. These hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit and her desire to embrace life fully.
Amanda leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, James Thomas Hawkins; her beloved daughter, Gracie Hawkins; her father, Dennis Lee Severt; her brother, Nathan Severt; and her special aunt, Beverly Cox. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Bare Severt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Chris Goodman and Rev. Richard Bare. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Piney Creek. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service.

The memory of Amanda will forever be cherished by her family and friends, as they hold close the moments shared with such a remarkable person who touched the lives of many.
