Ambrose Herman Jones

Rev. Ambrose Herman Jones, age 87 of Warrensville died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Rev. Jones was born in Ashe County on Saturday, November 2, 1935. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Elizabeth Jones, two brothers, Walter “Con” Jones and Claude Jones. Ambrose never met a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with people. He was called into the ministry in the 1970’s and from that day forward he continued to spread the Good News and Love of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the time of his passing he was the current pastor of Sabbath Home Baptist Church in Lansing.

Rev. Jones is survived by: his wife, Verna Mae Jones, two sons, Michael Herman Jones (Kasey) and Tony Jack Jones both of Warrensville, one daughter, Jeannie Jones of Warrensville, three grandchildren, Cassie Jones of Kannapolis, Abby Reasso (Bobby) of Concord, and Emma Jones of Warrensville.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Joey McClure.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Clint Gilley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30 pm Sunday, January 1, 2023 prior to the service at Ashelawn.
