Angala was born in Boone, NC on Monday, July 22, 1974 to Steve Latham and Betty Roten. Angala's life was cut short by cancer but she succeeded in living every moment to its fullest capacity. She aspired to add color, laughter and brightness to the lives of all she knew. Angala's greatest hope was that she could give a gentle touch of love to everyone she met and to spread the word and love of Jesus Christ. She graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1992 and attended Wilkes Community College. Angala was employed by McFarland & Company Publishers, Inc. of Jefferson. It was a childhood dream of hers to work in the publishing field at McFarland and she dearly loved and cherished the bond she formed with her McFarland family. Angala made Beaver Creek Christian Church her home church in the summer of 2009, it was there that she felt most at home to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. She was welcomed with open arms and with much love and kindness from her church family into their fold. Angala was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ennis Pell and Pauline Latham, maternal grandparents Henry and Roxie Bostic, step-grandfather Odell Roten, her brother, Eric Latham, mother and father-in-law James and Anne S. Tarlton, and brother-in-law Douglas Tarlton. She is survived by her greatest gift to the world, her son Dustin Hamm of Laurel Springs; parents Steve Latham of Galax, VA and JB and Betty Roten of Laurel Springs; her husband Tim Tarlton of Lansing; step-children Erika Tarlton Johnston and husband CJ of Spencer, NC, James Tarlton of Salisbury, NC; her step-grandmother, Zenna Roten of Laurel Springs; her sister Misty Hohman and husband Michael, niece Abigail and nephew Jared of Laurel Springs, brother Tony Latham of Galax, VA and nephew Bradley Taylor, nephew Eric Latham of Crumpler, step-sister Peggy Turner and husband Tony, nephew Jacob and niece Makayla of Claremont, NC, niece Erin McElveen Heyerdahl and husband Andrew, and great-niece Caroline of Springfield, VA. Also surviving is sister-in-law Patricia Tarlton McElveen and husband Tom of Roanoke, VA and sister-in-law Sarah Tarlton of Hendersonville, NC. Angala also leaves behind two earth bound angels, her best friends, Della Tucker Deal of Laurel Springs, and Jennifer Miller of Fleetwood and also her much loved companions and primary caretakers Earnie, Pippi, Dante' and Railroad, her canine furbabies. It was Angala's profound wish that in lieu of flowers, that any and all memorials be made to Betty Roten, 2070 Carson Woods Rd., Laurel Springs, NC 28644 to cover medical and burial expenses or to the Ashe County Humane Society. Much love and thanks to all those who prayed, cared for and looked after Angala during her illness. As she would have said, there is no way she could ever repay you on this earth, but rest assured that blessings on Angala's behalf await you in Heaven. You may send or view condolences to the family through our website www.ashelawn.com. Ashelawn Memorial Chapel was entrusted with Angala's arrangements.
