Anna "Ann" Johnson Goodman

Mrs. Anna "Ann" Lea Johnson Goodman age 81, of West Jefferson, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Goodman was born on December 16, 1933 in Ashe County to Lesley Vance and Maggie Weaver Johnson. Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Darrell Goodman, and sister, Eileen Honeycutt. Mrs. Goodman was a devoted mother, raising seven children on her own, after her husbands death at the age of 39. She was known for her Sunday dinners and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked for Leviton Manufacturing working for 27 years before retiring. Ann was proud of being a Cancer survivor since 1996. She was a faithful member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lawrence Goodman, and Rev. Johnny Goodman. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Goodman is survived by: daughter, Diana Goodman Mullis of Mechanicsville, VA, son, Darrell Goodman of Statesville, son, David Goodman of West Jefferson, son, Leonard Goodman of West Jefferson, son, Ricky Goodman of West Jefferson, daughter, Donna Goodman Blevins of Millers Creek, son, Chris Goodman of Jefferson, brother, Roger Johnson of Rockwell, NC. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
