Anna Lucille Johnston, age 20, was received into the loving presence of her Redeemer on April 13, 2024.
She was born in Kiev, Ukraine, on August 22, 2003, and became part of the Johnston family through adoption in November, 2018. Anna thrived in her family as a daughter and sister, and she was dearly loved by many family and friends.
Her life was a light bearing witness to the glory of God. In spite of her limited physical abilities, she embodied a contentment that many in this world long to experience. We know that the parts of the body that seem weaker are indispensable (1 Cor. 12:22), and we were blessed to call her ours. We were thankful for her adaptive equipment while it served her needs, but now we’re delighted that she has no more use for the service of wheelchairs, feeding pumps, and the like, because she has been clothed with immortality.
Anna is survived by her parents, Chris and Julianna; sisters Leah, Providence, Miriam, and Jubilee; brothers Isaac, Andrew, Slavik, Judah, and David; grandparents Gigi Johnston (Dudley Mizell), Gregg and Miriam Usry; aunts Joy Sullivan (Scott), Jenny Jarrard (Blair), Jane Conrad (Hunter), and 14 first cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Kelvin Johnston, and aunt Courtney Johnston.
Special thanks to Elizabeth White, Hannah Bailes, Rebekah White, and Hope Kennedy for all of the love and care shown to Anna through the years in our home and on our trips as a family.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, at 11:00 am at Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone, NC, with burial at 4:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Jefferson, NC.
