Anna Lou Phipps, age 84 of Fleetwood passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Phipps was born on May 4, 1940, in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Lee Harvey and Paralea Brown Gentry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Phipps, one sister, Betty Houck and one brother, Garland Toliver.
Anna Lou’s life was centered around her family, friends, and faith. She had a boundless love for her grandchildren, with whom she cherished countless joyful moments. She enjoyed being able to attend several churches over the years throughout her community, where she found strength and fellowship until her health prevented her from attending. In her earlier years, she enjoyed the art of cake decorating, creating beautifully crafted cakes that brought joy to many celebrations.
Mrs. Phipps is survived by her husband, Bill Phipps, one son, Michael Phipps, one daughter, Sierra Miller and husband, Charles all of Fleetwood, one brother, Jackie Gentry and wife, Linda of Fleetwood as well as three grandchildren, Lindsey Phipps, Myla Miller and Lily Miller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Rick Cornejo and Rev. Jamie Denny. Burial will follow in the Big Flatts Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm one hour prior to the service at Ashelawn.
Flowers will be accepted.
Anna leaves behind a legacy of kindness and faith that will continue to inspire her family and friends. She had a loving heart that touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, and she will be greatly missed.
