Audrey Vannoy Severt, age 87 of Laurel Springs died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Hospice of Davidson County. Mrs. Severt was born September 30, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Wiley and Mary Ann Dillard Vannoy. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Severt and brother, Bill Vannoy. She was a member of Orion Baptist Church. Audrey loved her life at Margate and loved socializing with friends. She was active participant in the Ashe Senior Olympics. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Steve Allen and Elder Eddie Lyle. Burial will follow in the Roans Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM prior to the service.
Mrs. Severt is survived by: daughter, Annabell Hiatt (Carroll) of Ararat, VA, sons, Steve Severt (Joan) of Gastonia, Kenneth Severt (Pat) of Lexington, Stanley Severt (Violet) of Winston-Salem and Michael Severt (Brenda) of Wilkesboro, brothers, Ward Vannoy (Barbara) and Wade Vannoy (Dorothy) all of Jefferson and Russell Vannoy (Ann) of West Jefferson, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Orion Baptist Church, PO Box 1345, Jefferson, NC 28640 or Roans Creek Cemetery Fund, c/o Steve Emerson, 205 Liddle Rd., Jefferson, NC 28640.
