Avery Turnmire

Avery Rufus Turnmire, age 91, of Jefferson, NC, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at the Segraves Care Center, Jefferson, NC.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 26, 2003 2:00 P.M. at the Bristol Baptist Church, Jefferson, NC, by Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, Rev. Randall McClure, and Rev. Tommy McClure. Interment will follow at the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00- 9:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, Jefferson, NC.

Mr. Turnmire was born in Ashe County, NC July 6, 1911 to the late Alse and Bertha Eller Turnmire. He was a farmer and preceded in death by his wife Virginia Turnmire.

Three Sons- Harold Dean Turnmire of Statesville, NC
Jack Rufus Turnmire of Statesville, NC
Jonny Franklin Turnmire of the home

One Sister- Ruby Baker of West Jefferson, NC

One Brother- Riley Turnmire of Warrensville, NC

21 grandchildren, 21great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews survive
