Barbara Ruth Cox

Barbara Ruth Cox age 87 of Jefferson passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Mrs. Cox was born in Ashe County on March 13, 1934 to the late Katie Clyde Miller Cox. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother to Harold and Seth and will be missed by those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bart Cox and brothers, Wade, Lester and Jim Cox.

Mrs. Cox is survived by: one son, Harold Cox and wife Amanda of West Jefferson, one grandson Seth Cox (Lauren) of Jefferson, five sisters Lula Severt, Ann Severt, Lola Cox, Mary Miller, Lenna Hodgson all of West Jefferson and four brothers, Fred, Wayland, Larry Cox all of West Jefferson and Willard Cox of Taylorsville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Albert Sidney Cox Cemetery by Rev. Wade Huntsinger officiating.
