Bartie James Parker

Bartie James Parker, age 70 of West Jefferson, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home.  Mr. Parker was born December 7, 1950 in Mtn. City, TN to the late Lester John and Lula May Lewis Parker.  Mr. Parker was a Drill Sergeant in the US Army from 1972 – 1992.  After retiring from the Army he worked as a butcher.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling and playing guitar.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kirby McNeill and Rev. Lonnie Carpenter. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm prior to the service.

Mr. Parker is survived by his son, Johnathan James Parker of West Jefferson, brother, Lester Parker of Jefferson and sister, Jewel Winebarger of VA. One niece and one nephew also survive.
