Bessie Hartzog

Bessie Mae Hartzog, age 96 of West Jefferson, died Monday, October 21, 2002 at the Watauga Medical Center. Mrs. Hartzog was born October 17, 1906 in Ashe County to Lawrence and Callie Calloway Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband C. B. Hartzog.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 23rd at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:30 till 8:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM, Thursday in the Hartzog Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Olds Fields Baptist Church

Son and daughter-in-law: Charles Rouss and Marlyn Hartzog of West Jefferson

Daughter and son- in law: Janis and Jack Roland of Belews Creek, NC

Grandchildren: Jackie Kennedy, Jeff Roland, Charles and Logan Hartzog
7 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive.
