Betty Royall Dollar age 68 of Jefferson passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Ashe County to the late Victor Alonzo and Velma Osborne Royall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, four brothers, Ray Dean Shatley, Robert Royall, Glenn Royall and Carl Shatley and husband, Rickey Lynn Dollar.
Betty lived a life full of joy, kindness, and adventure. She had a deep love for traveling, sewing, quilting, and reading, and she was known for her special bond with animals of all kinds. Betty felt most at home in the outdoors — whether it was fishing, hunting, or tending to her vegetable gardens, flower beds, or Christmas trees, she found beauty and purpose in nature.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Strong in spirit and always quick to offer a prayer for those in need, Betty never met a stranger and touched countless lives with her warmth and compassion. She dearly loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
In her own words, Betty described herself as "a little nutty," and she wanted most to be "remembered as me."
She is survived by, son, Matt Williams and wife Carla of West Jefferson, daughter, Nikki Dollar and fiancée, Ryan Neale of Jefferson, grandchildren, Evan Williams and Callie Williams; sisters, Sarah Severt and husband Eddie of West Jefferson, Mary Johnson of Laurel Springs, Lib Walton and husband Bill of Crumpler, brothers, Larry Shatley and wife Louise of Sparta, David Royall and wife Tabatha, Gene Royal and wife Butchie and Victor Royal and wife Barbara all of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. J.D. Walton. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Her light-hearted spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart leave a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew her.
