View this Videotribute (Must have Broadband Connection to view Video Tribute) Mr. Blan Edwin Blevins better known as "Eddie" age 63 of Crumpler died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Eddie was born in Ashe County to Blanford Upton Blevins and Blanche Bowers Blevins on Oct. 4, 1945. Mr. Blevins graduated from Ashe Central High School and Appalachian State University. Eddie was a dedicated teacher at West Lincoln High School and retired after 30 years of teaching. He was a faithful member of the committee of the Scott Blevins Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janie Lou Blevins Roupe and an infant brother Johnny. Survivors include his brother, Tom (Lisa) Blevins of Graham, NC, sisters, Emily (Raymond) Miller of Trinity, NC, Sherlyn Blevins of Crumpler, Mary Ellen Cash of Union Grove, Corliss (Lee) Wilmoth of Thurmond and Sarah Lynn "Wendy" (Bruce) Carson of Crumpler. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Joe Riley Blevins and Pastor Norman Fargis Sr. Burial will follow in the Scott Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from6-8pm Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
