Brenda Kay Hoosier

Brenda Kay Hoosier, age 62 of Crumpler died on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hoosier was born in Ashe County on May 12, 1953 to Herbert and the late Anna Dishman Wilcox. Including her mother, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassidy Nichole Roop and her husband, Rickey Howard "Rick" Hoosier. Brenda enjoyed quilting, sewing, watching and feeding birds, making crafts and spending time with her family.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. John Elledge. The family will receive friends and a celebration of Brenda's life will be held following the graveside service at the home of her sister, Leona Stansberry at 549 Smith Dixon Road in Crumpler.

Mrs. Hoosier is survived by: one son, David James Roop and wife Allison of Whitwell, TN; her father, Herbert Wilcox, three sisters, Ann Wilcox, Linda Wilcox, and Leona Stansberry, all of Crumpler, two brothers, Marvin Wilcox and Reggie Wilcox, both of Crumpler. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Benjamin Tyler Roop, Dylan James Roop, great-Grandson, Ryker Camden Roop, and several nieces and nephews.
