Buster Barker, born on January 28, 1969, in Jefferson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. He is remembered as a loving father, brother, and an exceptional friend who cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Buster was a talented mechanic, known for his skill and dedication to his craft. He particularly took pride in hauling cars for his colleague, J. W. Roten, which showcased his passion for automotive work. His life was enriched by the relationships he cultivated, and he touched many lives with his warmth and kindness.
He is survived by his beloved children, Becky Finley of Wytheville, Virginia, Kenny Shatley of Warrensville and Chris Barker of West Jefferson. Buster also leaves behind three sisters: Mackie Roten of Creston, Robin Jones of West Jefferson and Shirley Neaves of Laurel Springs, along with his brother, Billy Barker of Laurel Springs. The legacy of love Buster fostered continues with his ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Buster was preceded in death by his parents, William Worth Barker and Ossie Rebecca Miller Barker, son, Jessie Walter Barker and sister, Mabel Barker Roten.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at Mouth of Wilson Baptist Church by Rev. Jeff Blevins. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service.
