Mr. Carl Dean Bare, age 89 of Jefferson, died on Friday, October 9, 2015 at his home. Mr. Bare was born on March 11, 1926 in Ashe County, NC to Sam H. and Mary Nell Poe Bare. Mr. Bare was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Billie Worley Bare, a daughter, Tana Lee Bare, and two infant sons. Mr. Bare served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member and deacon at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Bare owned and operated Bare Electric for over 40 years. He loved to travel and see the country.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Cory Halsey, Rev. David Blackburn, and Mr. Richard Blackburn. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Bare is survived by: Wife, Mary Watson Bare; Stepsons, Danny Asel Billings, III and wife Denia of Sparta, Wayne Billings of Morganton, and Adam Billlings and wife Angie of West Jefferson; Brother, Bernard D. Bare of Jefferson; Sister, Barbara Staley of Crumpler; also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
