Carole Anita (Bass) Vereline

Carole Anita Bass Vereline, age 85, of West Jefferson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born on April 28, 1948, in New York City, NY, to the late Harold B. and Pauline Stein Bass.

Carole was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by one son, James "Jimmy" Vereline and wife, Mary of Florida/Tennessee, two daughters, Linda Yakel and husband, Timothy of West Jefferson and Catherine Vereline of Alaska, one sister, Janet Mills of New York, two grandchildren, Angela Shepherd and husband, Zach and Rebecca Yakel both of West Jefferson. Mrs. Vereline is also preceded in death by her cat "Inky".
