Catherine Arlene Glazebrook Ray

Our precious Cathy; she was a beautiful prayer warrior, lifting many up in prayer. Let it be known, that she was a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her love of Christ was shown through her many acts of kindness and generosity. We will so miss our gracious, loving, wonderful saint of the Lord.

Cathy G. Ray, wife of John H. Ray, passed away July 25, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Despite her illness, she never neglected what was important to her, family and friends. She was a true giver and the definition of generosity. No one ever left her home empty-handed. One of her greatest joys was searching out the perfect holiday and birthday gifts for everyone she held dear. Cathy is also remembered for her infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, joy of entertaining and love of life, making it a treat to be in her company. She was an excellent baker, and her cookie party each Christmas season is legendary, both for the fun she created and her excellent baking skills. The invitation to the party was a highlight of her friends’ holiday season. More than an outstanding baker, Cathy loved nothing more than the burgeoning of spring. It was always a special time to choose flowers and plants to beautify the gardens. Her deft touch made for the first welcoming sight before entering her warm and loving home.

She was filled with a sincere love for people and cats – and not necessarily in that order. Cathy never met a stranger. Within a brief time of meeting someone, you would think they were life-long friends.

And do not think to get in the way of her much anticipated and enjoyed vacations. They were the highlights of life each year and provided cherished memories for all who shared them with her and John.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Hardin Cemetery in Beaver Creek.

Cathy is survived by her husband, John Ray, her loving son, Pete Malcom, two cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Molly, brother, John Glazebrook and Cathy's lovely sister-in-law, Diane Glazebrook. Their presence was a source of immense joy and pride in her life and her legacy of love and generosity will undoubtedly live on through them.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Humane Society or Pooler Paws-Cat Adoption & Rescue.
