Christine Marie (Pennington) Greer

Christine Marie Pennington Greer, a loving wife, mother and grandmother of Lansing, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Margate Health and Rehab Center at the age of 75.  Mrs. Greer was born April 1, 1948 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Joseph Wayne and Aulsie Eldreth Pennington. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Pennington.

Christine dedicated her life to the well-being and happiness of her family. Her warm smile, tender heart, and nurturing spirit endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a woman of strength and love, providing a foundation of support for her family through every joy and challenge.

A faithful member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Greer found solace and purpose in her deep-rooted faith. She was actively involved in the church community, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. Christine exemplified the true spirit of Christian love. Known for her affinity for conversation, Christine also had a special gift for connecting with others and loved to talk.

Mrs. Greer is survived by her husband, James Greer "Jim", sons, James Anthony “Tony” Greer of Creston and Dwayne Thomas Greer of Lansing, daughter, Anita Greer of Creston, sister, Brenda Osborne of Creston, grandchildren, Derrick Greer, Sam Greer, Dustin Greer, Sheena McNeill, Sierra Greer, Katrina Greer, Heather Greer, Kelly Greer and Alexis Greer.  10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Sugar Grove Baptist Church at 1:00pm by Rev. Daniel Greer, Rev. David Greer and Rev. Larry Peak.  Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm one hour prior to the service.
