Mrs. Clara Roten age 71 of Glendale Springs died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Margate Health and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Roten was born August 23, 1937 in Wilkes County to the late Henry and Minnie Parsons Sheets.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband: Howard Roten, one sister: Lizzy Miller, three brothers:  Joe, Otto and Richard Sheets. She was a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member for over fifty years.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Sonny Thomas, Rev. Russell Sheets and Rev. Jack Miller.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Roten will lie in state one hour prior to the service.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 17th at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Roten is survived by: 1 daughter:  Cynthia Rutherford of Fleetwood 1 son:  Ronnie Roten of Crumpler 2 brothers:  Carl Sheets of Moravian Falls and Fred Sheets of Kannapolis 2 sisters:  Dare Miller of West Jefferson and Edna Overcash of Owasso, MI 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Family will meet at the homeplace at:  542 Old Wilkesboro Rd., Glendale Springs. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to either of the following: Calvary Freewill Baptist Church or High Country Healthcare System Hospice PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC  28640 You may send and view email condolences through our website at www.badgerfuneralhome.com.
