Clyde Elliott Cornette

Clyde Elliott Cornette, 95, a resident of Westchester Manor in High Point and under the care of United Hospice passed away on September 2, 2013.

She was born August 11, 1918, in West Jefferson to the late Lizzie Swift Elliott and Henry Elliott. She retired from Leviton Mfg. Co. in West Jefferson after many years of service. In past years she loved to garden, sew, cook, and go fishing with her family.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death is her husband, Earnest (nickname-Screwdriver) Cornette, one son, Earl Cornette and 8 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Josephine Brooks of Warrensville, two sons, Arvill Cornette and wife Judy of Sparta, Harold Cornette and wife Carrie of High Point, and one daughter in law, Carol Cornette of High Point. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Clyde's life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, NC, with Pastor Tim Dockery officiating. Interment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of the Good Shepherd. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff at Westchester Manor for their wonderful care and concern for several years and to United Hospice for their most recent compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
