Mrs. Clyde Edna Wilcox Osborne age 101, of Jefferson, NC died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Segraves Care Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Osborne was born October 4, 1910 in Ashe County, to the late William and Allie Stansberry Wilcox. Mrs. Osborne was preceded in death by her husband: Barney Osborne; 6 sisters: Mamie Weaver, Carrie Blevins Miller, Flora Sullivan, Mae Ham, June Mullins and Norma Kilby and 2 brothers: Lee and Wayne Wilcox. She was known to many as Aunt Clyde or Ms. Clyde. She was an old time cook who enjoyed preparing meals and making pies for her family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Segraves Care Center for the care they gave to Mrs. Osborne for the past 6 ½ years. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dean Shepherd. Burial followed in Osborne Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, prior to the service. Mrs. Osborne is survived by: 1 Sister, Lessie Roop of Whitetop, VA several nieces and nephews.
