Mrs. Connie Houck Walton Ackerman age 77 of West Jefferson died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Ackerman was born July 30, 1930 in Ashe County to the late James and Lester Church Houck. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband; Coy Lee Walton, son; Richard AllenWalton, grandson; Richard Allen Walton Jr. and sister; Dorothy Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. J. D. Walton. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, March 28th at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Ackerman is survived by: Her husband: John Ackerman 3 sons: Michael Walton of West Jefferson, NC, Bobby Walton of Lexington, NC and Steve Walton and wife Linda of Lansing, NC. 4 Brothers: Don Houck of West Jefferson, NC, Clyde Houck & Edward Houck both of Lexington, NC and Millard Houck of Winston-Salem, NC 1 sister Lula Belle Michael of Lexington, NC 3 grandchildren: Shane, Danuel and Matthew Walton, 1 great ?grandchild: Sierra Walton and several nieces and nephews.
