View Mrs. Pennington's video tribute. Mrs. Cora Mae Hall Pennington age 94, of Laurel Springs, NC died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Pennington was born on March 12, 1918 in Jefferson, NC to Roy and Dema Wyrick Hall. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by, her parents, one son, Gilbert Dean Pennington, husband, Carl Pennington, one sister and seven brothers. Mrs. Pennington was a member of Transou Christian Church. She loved cooking, working in her garden, sewing, flowers, watching birds and her cats. Mrs. Pennington had a loving heart and never had a harsh word for anyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. She will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3:30 pm at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lonnie Pruitt. Burial will follow in Roans Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Pennington is survived by: one son, James Pennington and fiancée Joyce of Millers Creek, NC, seven daughters, Jenny Griffin and fiancée Martin of Wilkesboro, NC, Bessie Hodges and husband Charlie of Sparta, NC, Margie Wagoner and husband Cecil of Laurel Springs, NC, Mary Sebastian and husband Curtis of Hayes, NC, Fannie Chandler and husband Andy of Millers Creek, NC, Dema Pennington and fiancée Norman of Pilot Mountain, Barbara Calloway and fiancée Keith of Wilkesboro, NC, one sister, Maude Bare of Glendale Springs, NC also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
