Mr. Dale Ray Dancy age 79 of Laurel Springs died Wednesday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Stitch Center. Mr. Dancy was born December 26, 1927 in Ashe County to the late Eugene and Leona Birchette Dancy. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Virginia Miller. Mr. Dancy was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. Mr. Dancy was currently a member of the Red Hill Ramblers,
a traditional string mountain band. Mr. Dancy's talent as a fiddle musician presented him many opportunities to perform for the public in Ashe and surrounding counties. He was also a member of the Ashe Wildlife Club.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Hassel Boyce. Burial will follow in New River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, March 10th at Badger Funeral Home.

1 daughter: Beverly McNeil better known as Dale of Wilkesboro
1 brother: Harold Dancy of Laurel Springs
1 sister: Ola Mae Seagle of Hickory
3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
