Danford R. Jones

Danford R. Jones, daughter of the late Thomas Floyd and Emma Rash Riddle, was born on June 12, 1925. On the Monday morning of March 6, 2023, the Golden Gates Swung open and a gentle voice said, “Come.” At the age of 97 years, 8 months, and 22 days, her life on earth was ended. While we mourn her passing, she is rejoicing in the Land where death will never come, and pain, and sorrow are unknown.

She was united in marriage to James Jones on September 14, 1946, to this union was born one son, Darrell.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Jones, her son, Darrell Jones, five sisters, Ella Elliott, Clemmie Main, Cora Lewis, Lucy Riddle, Hazel Shepherd, four brothers, Victor Riddle, Finley Riddle, Raymond Riddle, and infant, Roy Riddle.

Mrs. Jones is survived by one grandson, Terry Jones (Loretta), one granddaughter, Tammy Roten (Steve Eldreth), daughter-in-law, Mary Brackins, two great-grandsons, Chris Roten (Misty) and Christopher Edwards (Sierra), one great-granddaughter, Jada Roberts (Jordan), two great-great-granddaughters, Caden Roten, Kinsley Roberts, two step great-great-grandchildren, Zoey and Jayden.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel at 1:00pm with Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Tommy Wurth officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm one hour prior to the service at Ashelawn.
