Danish (Jones) Hodgson

Danish Jones Hodgson, age 90 of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Hodgson was born May 9, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Arthur and Lizzie Parsons Jones.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Hodgson, daughter, Margaret “Sue” Brooks, sisters, Virgie Harless, Minnie Lewis, Lois Sheets and Hazel Gilbert and brothers, Rev. Earl Jones and James Jones.

Danish worked 30 plus years at Hanes and she truly loved her “Hanes family”.  She was always willing to help others and her top priority was her family.  She loved sewing and gardening.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Kemp-Lewis Cemetery by Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Joey McClure.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm on Sunday at Badger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hodgson is survived by, brother, Clyde Jones of West Jefferson, granddaughter, Tanya “Dawn” Mayberry and husband David of West Jefferson, great-grandchild, Lilliana Mayberry of West Jefferson and special niece and devoted companion, Mildred Brooks of West Jefferson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
