David Blevins

David Allen Blevins age 89 of Jefferson, NC died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Blevins was born on March 8, 1914 in Whitetop, VA to Isaac and Rhody Blevins. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, earning a Bronze Star in the European and Pacific Campaigns. Mr. Blevins was a retired Industrial Arts Teacher and Building Contractor. He was an active member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, and participated in building missions in South, Central, and Latin America, as well as the Caribbean.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jefferson United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Miller will officiate. A military graveside will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. The family request no flowers and that memorials be made to the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 115 East Main Street, Jefferson, NC 28640.

Son: Lanney Blevins and wife Aleta of Kingsport, TN

Daughter: Joy Blevins-Doherty and husband Neil of Los Angeles, CA

Granddaughter: Christy Blevins of Kingsport, TN
