Dean Irvin Maheuron passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the age of 68. Dean was born July 2, 1953 in Pekin, Indiana. He grew up in Ft. Pierce, Florida and spent most of his life there and in Melbourne, Florida. He served in the United States Air Force from 1974-1977 as an instrumentation mechanic. For many years, he owned, operated, and at times was the sole employee, of Machine Repair Services (MRS) in Melbourne, Florida. There wasn’t a machine he couldn’t fix. He was the ultimate tinkerer, one of the last of a rare breed, a mechanical “genius.” He just knew how things worked and if he didn’t, he had no doubt he could figure it out. He could do anything—mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and even grow & can vegetables.
Dean loved movies of all sorts and loved to talk about them, although he never could think of the actor’s names. He loved classic rock music, but Adele’s songs could sure make him cry. He was obsessed with NASA, regularly watched their live stream and tracked every launch. Dean had a life-long, insatiable curiosity about anything and everything and never stopped asking or trying to figure out the how and why.
Dean was preceded in death by his father, Harry, his mother, Lois Hilliker, and his sister Debbie. He is survived by daughters Kim Hadley, Michelle Maheuron and Ginny Pischiera, his sister Denise Wurster and half-sister Susan Maheuron, his closest cousin Donnie Mahuron and wife Jolie, his nephew Jeremiah and niece Grace, and cousins Kathy, Terry, and Sherry.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Dean would appreciate donations made to any veteran support organization.
