Dessie Lewis

Dessie Mae Lewis, age 73 of Greensboro, formerly of Ashe County, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the Beverly Starmount Nursing Home in Greensboro. Mrs. Lewis was born August 7, 1928 in Ashe County to Elihue and Cindy Eastridge. She managed and operated the Northwestern Lodge in West Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 14th at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Day will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 till 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 13th at Badger Funeral Home.

Ms. Lewis is survived by:

5 sons: Robert & Denver Lewis both of Lansing, Dean Lewis of Elkin, William "Bill" Lewis of West Jefferson and Chuck Lewis of Greenville, SC

3 daughters: Lola Church of Greensboro, Cindy Clawson of Butler, TN and Melanie Wolney of Richmond, VA

2 sisters: Ollie Woodard & Zelda Lewis both of Creston

16 Grandchildren also survive, and several nieces and nephews.
