Dettie (Miller) Royal

Dettie Miller Royal, age 92 of Jefferson, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Generations, Ashe Assisted Living.  Mrs. Royal was born March 28, 1929 in Ashe County to the late Att and Ada Lambert Miller.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Reed Henry Royal.  Dettie was a member of Midway Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing in her spare time.  Dettie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Royal is survived by her daughter, Nancy McNeill and husband Gary of West Jefferson, sisters, Lillie Mae Phillips of Winston Salem and Geneva Morgan of Westminister, Maryland, granddaughter, Amy Colvard and husband Kevin and great-grandchildren, Mattie, Eli and Emme Colvard. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private funeral service with close friends and family was held for Mrs. Royal on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joey McClure and Rev. Steve LeaShomb.  Burial also took place on Sunday in the Ray Cemetery in West Jefferson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Generations, Ashe Assisted Living, 180 Chattyrob Lane, West Jefferson, NC  28694.
