Donna Grace (Frasca) Mongiove

Donna Grace Frasca Mongiove, a pillar of strength and faith, passed away on November 16, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Jersey City, NJ on Saturday, January 5, 1952, to the late Dominick Joseph and Lillian Ruth Davenport Frasca, She was 71 years old. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her brother, John Frasca and her husband, Edward Thomas Mongiove.

Donna was a woman of unwavering faith, finding solace and joy in her spiritual journey. She cherished her time at church, where she not only attended faithfully but also engaged in the profound practice of reading her Bible. Donna was a dedicated member of Appalachian Church, where she found a community that enriched her life and strengthened her faith.

Her love for music was evident in her passion for singing and her enjoyment of the Golden Oldies. The melodies of bygone eras brought her immense happiness, creating a soundtrack to her life that resonated with the warmth of nostalgia.

Donna had a nack for word search puzzles, showcasing her sharp mind and love for intellectual challenges. In quieter moments, she found comfort in the thrill of horror movies, immersing herself in the suspenseful narratives that captivated her imagination.

Above all, Donna was a devoted and loving mother and wife, pouring her heart into nurturing her family. She stood by her husband as a devout and caring wife until his passing, demonstrating the strength and depth of her commitment to those she held dear.

Mrs. Mongiove is survived by, her children, Nancy Mongiove of Middletown, NY, Dawn Mercado of Boone, Sherry Mongiove of Sugar Loaf, NY, Dominick Mongiove of Warrensville, Donna Graybeal (David) of Creston, Philomena Dills (Joseph) of North Wilkesboro, sister, Nancy Mathis of California, grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jeffery and Emily Sanabria, Jeffery and Noah Walker and great-granddaughter, Gianna Girdley; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Steve Ashley. Inurnment will be at a later date in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon prior to the service at Ashelawn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Appalachian Church Building Fund, 787 Ray Taylor Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.

Donna Grace Frasca Mongiove leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on the hearts of those around her.
