Donnie Ernest Harvey

Donnie Ernest Harvey, age 71 of Warrensville, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  Mr. Harvey was born May 5, 1948 in Arnett, WV to the late George and Lovie Blevins Harvey.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Jones Harvey.  Donnie was a faithful member of Clifton Baptist Church.  He retired from United Chemi-Con after 41 years of service.  Donnie enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren and playing cards with his friends.  He was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the UNC Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers.  Donnie was a wonderful caregiver to his wife, Linda during her illness and was always a help to others.  Donnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Jimmy Galgano.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

Mr. Harvey is survived by, daughter, Amy Blevins of Warrensville, son, Ryan Harvey and wife Amanda of Chapel Hill, half- brother, Danny Harvey of Lansing, step-mother, Jewell Faye Harvey of Lansing, grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) Blevins and Matt (Rachel) Blevins, great-grandchildren, Jake, Chase and Taylon, special friend, Linda Brooks of Jefferson, lifelong friends, J. R. and Bracel Roten of West Jefferson and several nieces and nephews

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clifton Baptist Church, c/o Mary Richardson, 972 Carl Eastridge Rd, Warrensville, NC  28693 or to the family, c/o Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 US Hwy 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.

The family will be meeting at the home of J.R. and Bracel Roten at 170 A Calhoun Rd. in West Jefferson.
