Doris Walters Edwards

Doris Walters Edwards, age 83 of West Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Margate Health and Rehab.  Mrs. Edwards was born on June 19, 1939 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Arvil Odell and Stella Mae Goodman Walters.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lindsay Edwards, brother, Herbert Walters and two sisters, Velma McMillan and Thelma Roten.

Doris was a great sewer, she did needlepoint, made dolls, quilts and clothes.  She was an immaculate housekeeper as well as an excellent cook.  Doris loved her flowers and going out to eat, she was a member of Midway Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending when her health allowed.  Mrs. Edwards will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her love for laughter.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 4:00pm at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Steve LeaShomb.  Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
