Doris Lee (Lewis) Hammons

Mrs. Doris Lee Lewis Hammons, age 75 of West Jefferson, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hammons was born September 30, 1941 in Ashe County to Winfred Scott Lewis and Edna Milam Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Scott Lewis. Her hobbies included working in her garden, square dancing, and traveling. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Pastor Joshua Giddings.

Mrs. Hammons is survived by:  her husband, Harold Thomas Hammons; daughter, Mitzi Trivett and husband Trent of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Jadyn Trivett and Tayvn Trivett; sister-in-law, Joy Lewis; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
