Doris Testerman, age 85, of Winston Salem, NC, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Testerman was born April 30, 1921 in Ashe County, NC to the late Arthur and Winnie Blevins Porter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Louis Testerman, and a son, Louis Edward Testerman. Mrs. Testerman was a very active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Winston Salem. She received a United Methodist Women's award, was a member of the senior citizens group and Sunday school.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson, NC. Reverend Tommy McClure will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the graveside service. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston Salem, NC 27127.
Mrs. Testerman is survived by:
One daughter: Annie Snyder and husband Donald of Winston Salem, NC.
One brother: Wilferd Porter of Jefferson, NC.
One daughter-in-law: Polly Testerman of Jefferson, NC.
Three grandchildren: Scott Testerman and special friend Shirley of Jefferson, NC, Robert Testerman and wife Carol of Comfort, NC, and Cameron Blaine Snyder and wife Julie of Winston Salem, NC.
Four great grandchildren: Brittany Testerman of Jefferson, NC, Robert (T.J.) Testerman, Jr. of Comfort, NC, Jonah Blaine Snyder, and Caden Paul Snyder, both of Winston Salem, NC.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
