Earl Leonard Lewis

Mr. Earl Leonard Lewis, age 87, of Creston, NC died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mr. Lewis was born on May 13, 1926 in Ashe County, NC to the late Everett and Beatrice Cornette Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three wives, Esther Lewis, Lillian Lewis and Bertha Lewis; two sisters and one brother. Mr. Lewis enjoyed working on the farm and woodworking. He would often make repairs to furniture and farm tools for people. He enjoyed attending churches in the area.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Brother Anthony Roark, Pastor Spencer Roark. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held in the Roark Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis is survived by: Son, David Glenn Lewis of Creston; Daughter, Mary Clark of Van Buren, Arkansas; Brothers, Steve Lewis and Darrell Lewis, both of Pennsylvania, Johnny Lewis of Maryland, Clyde Lewis and James Lewis, both of Creston; Sister, Tressie Roark of Hudson; also surviving are six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
