Eddy Wayne Bakeberg

Eddy Wayne Bakeberg age 80 of Lansing, passed away April 11, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Bakeberg was born November 28, 1941 in Washington County, MN to the late Edward and Elvera Ergquist Bakeberg.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Perrault Bakeberg, son, Anthony Bakeberg and girlfriend, Lynn Worth.

Eddy’s hobbies included old time banjo, hiking, biking, motorcycling, kayaking, camping at the Outer Banks, fishing, reading, painting, astrology, gardening and history.  He built his own log cabin when he moved to Ashe County 40 years ago and he said it felt like he’d come home.

Mr. Bakeberg is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Martinez (Marty), granddaughters, Andrea Martinez (Trey) and Lacey Martinez-Seagle (Paul), grandson, Cody Martinez (Mary Jane), great-granddaughters, Kailey, Capri, Alex, Wahya and Emmy, great-grandson, Mateo and dearest friend, Pat Hendersson.
