Edna Arlene Calloway

Edna Rash Calloway, age 89 of Todd, passed away September 19, 2024, at her home.  She was born on June 3, 1935, in Ashe County to the late John Spencer Rash and Mable Wheatly Rash. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her her husband, William Joseph Calloway, her brothers Edgar, Denver and Ray Rash, along with her sisters Earlene Eller, Pauline Latham and Joanne Wood. Edna was a beloved member of her community and an active participant in the Three Top Baptist Church, where she cultivated many cherished friendships. Known for her creative spirit, Edna enjoyed quilting and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardening. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family, which were the heart of her life.

Edna's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jones, and husband Bobby, of Todd; three sisters, Ima Jean Ford of Mouth of Wilson, Sharlene Lewis and husband Bob of Creston and Barbara Klink of West Jefferson; one grandson, William Jones and wife Cheryl; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Samuel; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The graveside service to honor Edna Arlene Calloway will take place on September 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Calloway Family Cemetery in Todd. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her remarkable life and the love she shared with all who knew her.
