Edward Little

Mr. Edward Lacy Little, better known as Edd, age 72, of West Jefferson, NC died on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at his home. Mr. Little was born on October 10, 1937 in Tazewell, VA to the late Lacy Woodrow and Edna Sullivan Little. Mr. Little was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Grainger. Mr. Little was a devoted husband to Joyce Potter Little for 45 years. He was a joy to all his family. He was a member of Lansing Presbyterian Church. He worked for Gardner Mirror as a truck driver; he drove over 4 million miles throughout his career of 47 years. Edd loved to coach Little League baseball. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Dwight Barker and Rev. Wayne Osborne. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Mr. Little is survived by: his wife, Joyce Potter Little; two sons - Dwayne Little of Wilkesboro, NC and Danny Little of Fleetwood, NC; one brother - Jack Little of Jefferson, NC; two sisters - Janet Ashley of Crumpler, NC, Dot Francis and husband Jim, of Lansing, NC; two grandsons - Tyler and Tanner Little; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mr. Little's fellow truck drivers.The family would like to thank everyone for their phone calls, visits to the home and hospital, and all the prayers during Edd's illness.
