Edward Alton Weaver, loving husband of Mary Weaver and dear father of Sherry (Frank) Hessler & Sonja (Kevin) Messick, passed away at age 80 with Mary at his side in Emporia, KS on April 8, 2018. A Memorial Service was previously held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Emporia, KS on April 11, 2018.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Sanders and Lillie Weaver; brother James Weaver and sister Laverne Hubert, and a grandson, Christopher who passed away in July 2019.

In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Weaver is survived by, grandchildren, Conner, Carina, Keith, Sarah, Kenny & Amy, great-grandchildren: Caydence & Hunter survive as do nephews Tracy & Eric, niece Tammy and brother-in-law John Hubert.

Edward was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was bestowed with the Commendation Medal. He started his second career in the nuclear industry post military retirement and worked many years in Quality Control until age 78.

Edward was born and raised in Ashe County, NC and his remains will be laid to rest at the Powers Family Cemetery, 300 Powers Hollow Road in Lansing on Saturday, Sept 28, 2019 at 10:00 am. All friends and family are welcome.
