Elaine (Barker) Brandt

Elaine Barker Brandt, age 72 of Grassy Creek, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Brandt was born on January 14, 1950 in Ashe County to Howard Attison Barker and Ethel Lovellen Brooks Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Trina Stanley, and a brother, Tony Barker.
Mrs. Brandt worked at Sara Lee Knit Products (Hanes) for 27 years, then State Line Store, and worked at Walmart for the past 22 years. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers, cooking, and spending time with her dogs and cats. She loved having big gatherings.

Mrs. Brandt is survived by:  her husband, Carl Brandt; two sons, James Greer and wife Susan of Jefferson and Jeff Greer and wife Penney of Fuquay Varina; one stepson, Donn Brandt and wife Ashlie of Mooresville; one brother, Bennie Barker of Oxford, PA; one sister, Sherri Pennington of Oxford, PA; three grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, and Bryce; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
