Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McIntosh Chenault, 68 of Laurel Springs died at her home Saturday, September 7, 2002. Mrs. Chenault was born to Richard I. and Elizabeth Tinsley McIntosh on February 27, l934 in
Jefferson, Kentucky.
Mrs. Chenault was a graduate of Atherton High School (1951) in Louisville, and the University of Kentucky (1955). She earned a MA degree from Georgia State in l976. Mrs. Chenault was a dedicated educator winning the devotion and love of her students and co-workers. She served the Wake County school systems. She was a member of the Chio OMEGA sorority. Following her retirement she made her home in Ashe County, North Carolina where she was actively involved in the Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church and the Ashe County Republican Party.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, September 9, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Phillip Pogue and Emily Davis, CLP. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson, NC. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Chenault is survived by her husband, John Chenault of the home, four daughters: Elizabeth Ann Chenault of Chapel Hill, Carlisle Chenault of Raleigh, Luisa Sullivan Chenault of Raleigh, and Sarah Chenault Southward of Apex, NC. Two sister-in laws: Ms. Luisa deVarona Chenault of Raleigh and Ms. Carlisle Chenault Farmer of Lexington, KY. Two grandchildren also survive.
